1963 Volkswagen Beetle arrived in the United States in June, 1963. This Beetle was sold by the Kelly Motor Company in Scarton, Pennsylvania. This Beetle design came from Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and was debuted in pre-World War II Germany despite of limited production initially. The very first Beetle arrived in the 1950s in America. The Bug featured a rear-mounted, air-cooled engine and the gas tank held 10.6 gallons with the advertised average fuel economy of 31 mpg. 1963 Volkswagen Beetle starred in 1997 made-for-TV Disney movie, the Love Bug which was a sequel to the earlier movies series that featured 1963 Volkswagen Beetle endowed with human characteristics. Fictional beetle was capable of locking and unlocking his own doors, honk his horn, drive himself, flick his headlights, pop wheelies and can spilt in two when required.
